Investing in these tools may cost you a bit of money initially, but certainly no more than the cost of one visit to a professional manicurist. Plus, you'll have them at your disposal for the next time you give yourself a manicure. Here's a list of every item you might need. Read through the SYW, and decide what you can do without. - Cotton Pads (not cotton balls . . . those are too linty)

- Bowl of Warm Water
